Constable Francis (Frank) Excell
Photographs supplied by Frank's grand-nephew

Records show that Constable Excell joined the NZ Police in 1914 and completed 40 years service, working at Christchurch, Ashburton, Kaitangata, Roslyn and Maori Hill. Directories show him at Roslyn in 1925 and also in 1936 but the book 'Authority to Protect' - A story of Policing in Otago - by Miles Singe & David Thomson shows him at Maori Hill Station in 1936, so maybe he moved to Maori Hill during 1936.

Below are two photographs of Constable Excell supplied by his grand-nephew Clive Callow. The dates for these photographs are not currently known.

Frank Excell died on 22nd January 1955 in Ranfurly.
